KDP hinders hundreds of Êzîdîs from returning home

Hundreds of Êzîdîs who want to leave camps in Southern Kurdistan and return their homes in Shengal, face obstructions by KDP asayish forces in Sihêla.

Hundreds of Êzîdîs who were accommodated in camps in Duhok and Hewlêr, want to return to Shengal but are being prevented by the asayish forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

Around 150 families attempted to return to Shengal yesterday but have not been allowed to cross the border gate of Sihêla. According to the information we received, KDP asayish forces obstructed the Êzîdî families from Bacîd and Duhok camps from returning to Shengal.

As the Êzîdî families are still held at the border gate of Sihêla, a long trail of trucks laden with the properties of the people queued up at the scene.

KDP’s asayish forces deploy more of their forces to Sihêla, while the Êzîdîs are kept waiting under the heat of the sun.
