A delegation from Rojava has requested to have a meeting with KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) officials regarding the closure of the Sêmelka border gate between West and South Kurdistan.
KDP has rejected the request of the delegation formed by the name of “Rojavan Citizens” who therewith made a statement to the press on the matter at the border gate in Derik city.
Speaking here, Girkê Legê Popular Assembly Member Xesan Rustem stated that they were obstructed by KDP's security forces upon their demand to speak of the embargo imposed on the people of Rojava Rustem said they expect an explanation from the KDP as to why it has blocked the border crossing.
Rustem condemned the denial of border-crossing for the civilians who suffered injuries during the regime forces' recent attacks in Qamishlo city, and criticized the baseless news reported by the KDP media on this issue.
Xesan Rustem added that the IRD in South Kurdistan has sent medicine to them but the wounded are still being denied access into the South Kurdistan side of the border.
Masses from Rojava continue their protest at the border gate.
