KJAR salutes the struggle of Kurdish revolutionaries executed by Iran

KJAR commemorated Kurdish revolutionaries executed by Iran and called upon the people to enhance the struggle for freedom, describing the May 9 Martyrs as exemplary figures of peoples’ freedom struggle, and warning Iran.

Free Women’s Union of East Kurdistan (KJAR) issued a written statement on Kurdish politicians and revolutionaries Şîrîn Elemhulî, Ferzad Kemanger, Ferhad Wekîlî, Elî Heyderiyan and Mehdî Îslamiyan that were executed by the Iranian regime in 2010.

In its statement, KJAR emphasized that executions, arrests and tortures could not break peoples’ will and sacrifice for freedom, and said that the fascist Iranian regime targeted Kurdish identity and struggle for freedom with its executions. The Union said that the resistance of Mazlum Doğan, Kemal Pir and Sakine Cansız was embodied in Evin prison on May 9 and upset the Iranian regime’s plans as it called upon every conscious person to rise and resist.

CHARACTERISTICS OF RESISTANCE

Describing Şîrîn Elemhulî as a leading woman whose resistance against fascist enemies inspired the life and struggle of all woman fighters, KJAR said that inspired by Martyr Sakine, comrade Şîrîn illuminated the path to freedom with her insistence of resistance.

KJAR stated that Ferzad Kemanger gave hope to revolutionaries in Kurdistan, İran and other parts of the world with his stance, and the letters he left behind continue to inspire people today. The union described Elî Heyderiyan as the symbol of heroism and sacrifice, and said that Mehdî Îslamiyan was the symbol of peoples’ coexistence with his internationalist and socialist stance.

WARNING TO IRAN

KJAR emphasized that the Iranian regime uses Sharia law and Islam in order to extend its power over the people of Iran, and executes, imprisons and tortures everyone demanding freedom and democracy, warning that Iran would be like Syria, Iraq and Turkey if it continues to ignore the demands for freedom. Lastly, KJAR called upon everyone in East Kurdistan and Iran to show solidarity with the struggle for freedom in order to establish peoples’ coexistence through a peaceful political solution.
