Iraq Civil Aviation Authority said that the ban on international flights to Arbil and Sulaymaniyah will remain in force until February 28, 2018.
Iraq’s central government decided to ban all international flights to Southern Kurdistan after Kurdistan Regional Government refused to hand over international airports to Iraq’s aviation authority.
The decision affected thousands of people especially Kurds living in Europe. Since then Kurdish passengers travel to Baghdad or Najaf before flying to international destinations.
