Kurdish artist visits Yağız on day 119 of hunger strike

"The hunger strike was launched against Turkey's policies and will bring victory. Fascism will be destroyed.”

Hozan Diyar, in South Kurdistan to join Newroz in Qandil, visited Nazır Yağız who has been on hunger strike for 119 days demanding the end of isolation on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

During his visit, the Kurdish artist said: “The Turkish state, which continues to carry out policies to destroy the Kurdish people, wants to isolate them by isolating leader Apo. They turned Bakur (North Kurdistan) into a prison. The hunger strike was launched against Turkey's policies and will bring victory. Fascism will be destroyed.”

Hozan Diyar added that he prepared a song about the resistance of the people of Şêladizê that stood up to the occupying Turkish state and said that he would perform this song together with artist Hesen Şerîf.

The Turkish state on 23 January attacked the Dêralok and Hetutê regions slaughtering 4 civilians. After the attacks the people of  Şêladizê raided a Turkish military base and set all the military equipment on fire.
