Kurdish singer sentenced to 6 months in prison for singing for Behdinan prisoners

After repeated detentions since last year, Kurdish singer Bilind Amêdî was sentenced to 6 months in prison by Duhok Court for a song he composed in support of the Behdinan prisoners.

Bilind Amêdî, a Kurdish singer, shared a song he composed for the Behdinan journalists and activists on his social media account last year.

The young singer, who shares his songs on social media, has been repeatedly detained and released by the Duhok Asayish (local public security force) since last year because of the song in question.

On Tuesday, the singer was sentenced to 6 months in prison for the song he composed in support of the Behdinan prisoners, according to RojNews.
