A military operation was launched this morning, covering many villages, plateaus, rural areas and pastures in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari. According to the Mezopotamya Agency (MA), the operation is carried out in a large territory extending to the Başkale district of Van. Thousands of armoured vehicles and helicopters were dispatched to the operation areas from Hakkari city centre and surrounding districts in the early hours of the morning. 

According to the information obtained from local sources, the roads leading to Meydan Belek, Gelîyê Zeynebê and Gelîyê Dolan plateaus were blocked by the troops. Many more regions in the operation area were blockaded by the soldiers amidst heavy military deployment.

On the other hand, the military operation launched on 11 June in the Sipêrêz Mountain region in Yüksekova has been continuing uninterruptedly for 13 days. In the areas where Sipêrêz and Omerê mountains are located, Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) activity takes place at night.
