Life of Kurdish activists arrested in Rojhilat in great danger

The Democratic Platform of Iran's Movements and Peoples: The new intelligence and security files against Kurdish environmental activists by the regime’s intelligence are general conspiracies.

In response to the recent mass arrests by the Islamic Republic intelligence in Rojhilat, East Kurdistan, the Democratic Platform of Iran's Movements and Peoples has issued a statement calling on all left-wing political movements and freedom-loving people to support arrested activists in East Kurdistan and Iran.

The statement of the Democratic Platform of Iran's Movements and Peoples is as follows:

“The Democratic Platform of Iran's Movements and Peoples warns against the risk posed to the life and freedom of ten Kurdish environmental activists by conspiracy and security filing of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s oppressive intelligence agencies.

The new intelligence and security files against Kurdish environmental activists by the regime’s intelligence are general conspiracies. The scope of this conspiracy, which began earlier in Tehran and led to the arrest of a group of activists in the field charged with ‘spying and corruption on earth,’ and followed by the assassination of Kavous Seyed Emami, a professor of sociology and environmental activist at Evin Prison, has now expanded to the cities of East Kurdistan.

In line with the noted conspiracy, during the past two weeks, 10 civil and environmental activists in Kamyaran and Sine (Sanandaj) cities were arrested by the regime’s intelligence agencies by use of excessive violence, and are now being subjected to torture in order to enforce false confessions.

Deceiving the public opinion and preparing for the necessary judicial arrangements, the political-security deputy of Kurdistan province governor, in an interview with the Mehr news agency, without offering any evidence, claimed that the arrested activists were members of the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) in environmental institution cover – and were also involved in the murder of an ambulance driver of the Kamyaran Red Crescent Organization. Meanwhile, the Free Life Party of Kurdistan has reportedly dismissed the claims of the security official to relate the detainees with the party, and insisted that the driver had been killed by the regime's intelligence agents.

At the same time, some regime agents in Kurdistan, such as Kamyaran’s Imam Jumah and the head of the City’s Council, have been implicitly calling for the execution of detainees, in coordination with intelligence agencies in order to complete their conspiracy scenario.

Undoubtedly, the strategic goal of the Islamic regime of Iran, from plotting against activists of social and civil movements such as environmental activists and independent workers, teachers, students, women etc. – which has continued indefinitely for four decades of reactionary and repressive sovereignty – is nothing but a reversal of the massive social movement that has been carried out by the oppressed, since the Islamic Republic's establishment.

The Democratic Platform of Iran's Movements and Peoples calls on all the socialist and left-wing organizations, parties and political movements, libertarian and environmental activists as well as human rights advocates and the oppressed communities in Iran to support the arrested activists in Kurdistan to defeat the regime’s security filing.”
