A number of people including MEYA-DER co-chair and Çatak deputy co-mayor have been detained in house raids in Van province.

Turkish police forces continued house raids early Tuesday morning after the detention of two people in Çatak district of Van yesterday. Çatak deputy co-mayor Turgut Babur has been detained in today's operation.

Police forces also raided a number of houses in Van city center and detained a number of people including MEYA-DER provincial co-chair Neriman Urar.

The detainees have been taken to Van Police Directorate.
