A landmine exploded in the Bradost region of southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) on Friday.
According to RojNews, a landmine explosion occurred in the Sinin Valley this morning and left a shepherd injured as he grassed his sheep.
The shepherd was rushed to Sidekan for emergency response, and then transferred to Soran Hospital.
The Sinin Valley still contains a large number of landmines left over from the dictator Saddam Hussein’s era. Explosions of these mines leave dozens of people dead or wounded every year.
