At least two missiles have hit the Turkish military base near the town of Bashiqa near Mosul.
On Monday night, a missile attack targeted the Turkish military base Bashiqa (ku. Başîqa) near Mosul. The regional leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Xeyas Surçi, reported that the military base had already been struck by missiles earlier.
According to available information, the attack involved two rockets fired by unknown persons at the Turkish base. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack against the occupying forces. However, according to the version, pro-Iranian militias could be behind the attack. There is no information about damage to the military base or casualties.
South Kurdistan is home to 40 official Turkish military bases and countless unofficial Turkish intelligence facilities. The presence of the Turkish occupiers is primarily related to the collaboration of South Kurdistan’s KDP government with Turkish fascism.
