More actions by guerrillas in South Kurdistan

A Turkish soldier was killed and four others were injured during guerrilla actions in South Kurdistan. The guerrillas also targeted military equipment and destroyed, among other things, an ammunition depot.

Guerrillas have once again targeted the Turkish military in South Kurdistan. According to a report on the war in the region presented by the People's Defense Forces (HPG) on Monday, guerrilla units from the HPG and YJA Star (Free Women’s Units) have struck at least nine times against Turkish troops since Friday. At least one soldier was killed and others were injured. The guerrillas also said they destroyed Turkish military equipment.

The attacks mentioned in the report took place in Heftanîn and Zap, according to HPG information. The western front of the Zap region in particular has been heavily contested for months. The details of the actions include that on the night of Monday, occupying forces on Girê Bahar were attacked with heavy weapons. Late on Saturday evening, the guerrillas also used artillery here, targeting a group of soldiers on the hill. Four soldiers were reportedly injured. On Friday, the YJA Star destroyed surveillance technology installed by the army.

On the same day, the guerrillas also attacked enemy troops on Girê Amêdî. According to HPG, an attack with heavy weapons was initially carried out from a distance, before female snipers from the YJA Star were finally deployed. According to the report, one soldier was killed, and an ammunition depot was completely destroyed. In another action, an excavator vehicle that was being used to expand the occupiers' infrastructure was fired upon. The machine was hit hard by heavy equipment. As a result, work was stopped.

At about the same time, there was also an action on Girê Cûdî. A female sniper destroyed a surveillance camera. In the Keşan and Kanî Biyê areas of Heftanîn, the occupying forces were attacked twice with heavy weapons on Saturday.

Attacks by the Turkish army

On 3 and 4 August, the Lolan, Şehîd Şerîf, Kendakola, Sinînê areas of the Xakurkê region were bombed 12 times by Turkish warplanes, the Dêrîk, Gûzê, Deşta Kafya, Şikeftiya, Girê areas of the Garê region were bombed 7 times, the Girê Bahar Resistance Area of ​​the Şehîd Delîl and Western Zap region were bombed 5 times, and the Şêlazê Resistance Area of ​​the Metîna region were bombed 1 time, for a total of 25 times.

On 4 and 5 August, the Girê Bahar Resistance Area of ​​the Martyr Delîl Western Zap region, the Şêlazê Resistance Area of ​​the Metîna region and the Kendakola area of ​​the Xakurkê region were bombed by attack helicopters.
