Arrests and detentions continue in the scope of the political genocide operations aiming an elimination of the Kurdish population mainly in Kurdish cities. While six persons were remanded in custody in Doğubeyazıt, two others were detained in Amed.
Six people who had been detained in simultaneous house raids in Doğubeyazıt district of Ağrı on August 31 have been formally arrested by the court today on alleged grounds of “being member of an organisation”, and sent to Ağrı M Type Closed Prison.
In the meantime, two persons were detained in Dicle and Eğil districts of Amed.
Tensions arose between self-defense units and police forces in 27 May neighbourhood of Dicle (Piran) district of Amed last night. While a reportedly bomb-laden vehicle has been found near the Court House lodge this morning and taken to the police headquarters in the district, police forces carried out a search in the municipality building at noon hours. Two municipality officers were taken to the police department to give their testimonies, after which one of them was detained.
Meanwhile DBP Eğil district branch former co-chair Yaşar Aydın was detained in the house raids launched in Eğil district of Amed early this morning.
