No news has been received for 5 hours from the basement in Cizre where dozens of people, including slain and wounded, remain trapped for 8 days now. While seven have died waiting for an ambulance since, the rest is facing a life-threatening situation under savagest conditions without a single basic means to survive.
Turkish security forces deployed in the area have once again denied access to Cizre Municipality ambulances that keep making efforts to reach the trapped people under a threat of imminent death. In addition to the hindrance of ambulances, military forces continued to shell the building which has largely been demolished as a result of attacks.
The building once again came under fire by Turkish forces as ambulances tried to reach the scene to rescue the trapped civilians earlier today. The aggression demolished a wall of the basement, which has closed the single way out. No news has been received from the basement since.
HDP MP Faysal Sarıyıldız who is also in the town wrote the followings on his Twitter account after today's incidents; "Paramilitary death squads sent by AKP to Cizre are fulfilling Erdoğan's orders with daily crimes against humanity. "We will not let them survive" said the state's death squads to the health team that tried to reach the basement today."
A statement by HDP delegation also voiced growing concerns over the situation of the dozens trapped in the basement for eight days.
