'”STATE FORCES OCCUPIED ALL RESIDENTIAL AREAS”
Speaking to ANF, HDP Mardin Provincial Co-chair Ali Aslan stated that an official curfew has been declared in nine villages but many villages in Savur district as well are also facing de-facto curfews. Aslan pointed out that the right to life of thousands of villagers is being violated and the their security of life is at great risk.
According to Aslan, schools in these villages have been transformed into military bases, and soldiers have been deployed in many houses, laying a siege on the daily life of villagers.
“WE ARE SERIOUSLY CONCERNED”
Aslan emphasized that the most intense aggression and siege is taking place in Nusaybin's Xerabe Bava village, adding: “Many people have been detained and they are being tortured. We have received no news from this village since yesterday evening. Our contact with the villagers is lost and we are seriously concerned over their security of life. A massacre might have been perpetrated even.”
“ANIMALS PERISH”
Aslan stated that the latest news they heard from Xerabe Bava village was that animals were perishing because they could not be taken to the fields to be grazed for a while. Aslan pointed out that no one is allowed to enter or exit the village, and residents cannot meet their daily needs due to the siege.
Lastly, Aslan noted that contact with the villagers has been lost after all the phone and internet services were cut off, demanding an immediate end to the attack and an official statement on what is going on in the village.
