On the 25th day of the siege by state forces in Şırnak, intense clashes have continued from last night in İsmetpaşa, Cumhuriyet and Vakıfkent neighborhoods. Artillery and howitzer aggression towards all neighborhoods continues.
State forces continue their genocidal attacks in the province of Şırnak for 25 days now. Intense clashes occurred through the night after Turkish forces launched an attack with heavy weapons on the area between Cumhuriyet and İsmetpaşa neighborhoods yesterday at sundown. Clashes that erupted when YPS/YPS-JIN members retaliated have been going strong for more than 12 hours.
While neighborhoods remained under mortar and howitzer fire until the morning, occasional blasts can be heard from the area of clashes between state forces trying to enter Yenimahalle, Bahçelievler and Gazi neighborhoods and YPS/YPS-JIN members responding to them.
Another scene of clashes is the Vakıfkent neighborhood where intense clashes are taking place around the SGK building.
No concrete information could be reached yet about the results of the 12-hour long clashes while several ambulances were dispatched to the area through the night. The ambulances entering the area of clashes were seen entering the 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command.
Houses are being demolished one by one with tanks stationed close to Dicle and Bahçeli neighborhoods. Several houses caught fire during the bombardment and the fire department isn’t allowed to interfere. The neighborhoods of self-rule remain under constant mortar and howitzer fire since last night.
Military dispatchment to the city as well as helicopter and UAV activity continues.
