Notes from the 5th day of Raqqa Operation

Operation Liberate North Raqqa continued on its fifth day.

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continues to liberate villages in North Raqqa as ISIS gangs run away from the clashes. SDF fighters clear the recently liberated areas from mines and continue to advance with great morale on the 5th day of the operation.

FRENCH GANG LEADER KILLED

A French ISIS gang leader was killed during the operation. The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that 45 gangs including a French ISIS leader were killed during a bombardment on May 24 carried out by international coalition warplanes that support the operation.

ISIS gangs tried to infiltrate SDF positions n the village of Hîşê to the east of Eyn Îsa at 23:00 last night, but failed to reach their goal as more than 10 gangs were killed and many gangs were injured during a warplane bombardment.

REFUGEES FROM RAQQA: WE WILL RETURN TO OUR LANDS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Refugees from Raqqa in Mabrouka and Kobane stated that they would return to their houses when SDF forces liberate Raqqa. The refugees expressed their desire for the liberation of Raqqa, and said that they were sure of an SDF victory in the face of ISIS. Lastly, the refugees stated that they yearned for peace in Syria, and called for the democratic union of Syria.
