Amid ongoing mass detainment, the number of Kurdish politicians and activists taken into custody by the Turkish state in Amed has reached 26.
Political genocide operations as part of an investigation launched by Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor's Office against members and administrators of Free Women's Movement (TJA), Democratic Society Congress (DTK), Democratic Region's Party (DBP), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) continue since June 14. There is confidentiality order on the investigation that was launched against politicians and women's rights activists in 2016.
Turkish police conducted operations last night and took four more political activists into custody. The number of detainees has thus reached 26, but more detainments are expected to happen in relation to the named investigation.
The by now detained political activists and politicians are: Nalan Gözden, Mehmet Güzel, A. Baran Dağ, Sibel İldan, Ercan Aslan, Yüksel Baran, Zeynep Altınkaynak, Sara Aktaş, Ayşe Gökkan, Şah Can Tünen, Salih Keleş, Selahaddin Kaygusuz, Hatice Uçar, Kerem Duruk, Necla Nergiz, Sibel Elvan, Devran Balkaş, Hasan İnatçı, Helbest İlkan, Cengiz Sökmen, Paşa Şeker, Ebubekir Budak, Ayşe Yağcı, Evren Ortaç, Hanım Ayhan, Gül Kızıltaş.
