Ongoing military operation and reinforcement in Hakkari

Entrance and exit to Talê region on the 20th kilometer of the Hakkari (Colemêrg) and Çukurca (Çelê) highway has been banned by Turkish soldiers. Local sources say the residents of nearby villages weren't allowed to enter or exit the region by the soldiers.
Following the ban, several military units were dispatched to the area in armored vehicles.
Meanwhile, there are Kobra and Kirpi type armored vehicles standing by at the gendarmerie check point in Depin, close to the end of Hakkari-Çukurca highway.
In the meantime, the air-supported Turkish military operation in the rural areas of Garê (Tekeli) village, Xapuşte, Çiyayê Panê (Geniştepe) and Kurê Mızgeftê areas in Şemdinli, Gever and Çukurca districts of Hakkari is ongoing. The operation zone is also witnessing an intense activity of Turkish jets.
Turkish jets also flew over the guerrilla areas of Garê, Avashin, Çarçella, Zap, Xakûrkê and Haftanin on the other side of the border yesterday evening.
