The operation launched by the Turkish army in Besta region of Şırnak province, Northern Kurdistan on November 4th continues.
A large number of soldiers and village guards are participating in the operation which is witnessing sporadic clashes between Turkish soldiers and Kurdish guerrillas. Several tanks and armored vehicles are being dispatched to the operation area.
In the meantime, the area is being shelled by helicopters and unmanned combat aerial vehicles taking off from the 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command in Şırnak city centre.
Local sources report that Turkish troops cannot advance against the guerrilla forces as the Turkish army continues dispatching reinforcements and conducting airstrikes on the area.
