Thousands of Turkish soldiers and village guards launched a comprehensive operation near Akdağlar in Bingöl’s Genç district. Special units are reportedly laying ambushes in the region where search and sweep efforts continue. Hundreds of village guards have arrived at the Çiyê Spi (Akdağ) region to join the operation.

Military preparations and activity were also observed at the Tabantepe and Yayla military posts on the road between Amed and Bingöl.
