As part of the Operation in the area of Mount Cudi in Şırnak countryside, Turkish soldiers have driven nomads out of the plateaus. The population is prevented from going to their fields.
The Turkish army is constantly carrying out military transports in the area. Vehicles and soldiers are brought into the operational areas from the center of Şırnak and the rural areas of Silopi.
Sounds of fighting can be heard in many places and artillery shelling from military bases continues. At the same time war planes of the Turkish army are flying over the area. The entire region witnessing continuous activity by drones and attacked by helicopters taking off from the 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command.
The nomads on Mount Cudi, who live on the plateaus, were driven out by the Turkish military. No information is yet available on how many nomadic people owning thousands of animals are affected.
The population of the village of Cifanê on the slopes of Mount Cudi is also denied access to their fields by the Turkish soldiers, thus depriving them of their livelihood. Yesterday, villagers were prevented from going to their fields, gardens and vineyards on grounds of an established "special security zone". More and more soldiers are stationed in the area.
