The Yazidi Freedom and Democracy Party (PADÊ) released a statement marking the 11th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution which began 11 years ago today, on 19 July 2012, when three predominantly Kurdish-inhabited areas of Syria declared their autonomy from the central government.

Celebrating all the peoples and faiths in Rojava on the 11th anniversary of the 19 July Revolution, PADÊ said: “The revolution in Rojava pioneered the people facing annihilation and brought about their rebirth. Based on the fraternity of peoples, the people of Rojava gradually built a moral and political society, which was founded on the freedom philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan.”

PADÊ pointed out that the revolution of Rojava developed against all enemies of humanity, rose as the scream of peoples, and triumphed in a fight against the enemies of humanity.

“As the Yazidi Freedom and Democracy Party, we gratefully remember all the martyrs of the Rojava Revolution and bow to their struggle. Shengal was liberated from ISIS occupation on 13 August 2014 thanks to the YPG-YPJ fighters from Rojava and the guerrillas. The liberation of the Shengal people is a result of the Rojava Revolution,” the statement said.
