The Turkish state continues its invasion attacks in Bashure (South) Kurdistan, and wants to depopulate the area from border line leading inland with the excuse of fighting the PKK. Despite the intense bombing, the people in the region say they won’t leave their lands or their homes.

The people spoke to the ANF and said they know what the Turkish state’s goals are, and that they will continue to resist.

THEY ARE KILLING CIVILIANS

Rêbiwar Ehmed Birahîm: We are against the Turkish state’s invasion attacks. This is not the first attack by the invading Turkish state, most recently they had killed 4 young people in the Baleyan village on Newroz. They want to intimidate the people of the region and push them away. Qandil is no ordinary place, nobody can invade this land. Qandil is an ancient region, many have tried to invade it constantly but the people of the region never allowed it. They fought invaders and didn’t allow them in.

WE WILL FIGHT

Dêhat Setretin: As residents of the Mawnaye village, we condemn the İnvasion attacks by the Turkish state. We can only void these attacks with a strong unity. The Turkish state has been attacking Qandil for years with the excuse of the PKK, and killing civilians, women and children. Homes and fields are damaged. Whatever happens, we won’t leave our lands or our country. We will fight the attacks.

QANDIL IS OUR HOME

Rêbûwar Emin: Qandil youth will never allow the invasion to come to pass. Qandil is our home, and we as the youth take care of Qandil. We are prepared to give our lives to this end. Erdoğan wants to intimidate the peple of the South with these attacks. The residents of Qandil are on their own land. If the Turkish state wants to invade Qandil, we will respond appropriately.

PARTIES MUST STAND AGAINST THEM TOO

Feysel Xelatê: These policies by the Turkish state are nothing new. They have been threatening to invade Qandil all the time. These threats are so the people would leave their homes and their lands.  The Turkish state constantly lies and says they entered Qandil, or they are about to. The political parties in the South must stand against these attacks with the same stance.
