People resist against state forces' attacks in Bağlar

The attacks by state forces intensify with the curfew in Kayartepe Neighborhood of Amed’s Bağlar district where 2 people lost their lives in clashes that started after the state forces attacked. The youth put up barricades and started resistance against the police attack and siege. While gunshots can be heard frequently from the side streets in the morning hours, the resisting youth behind barricades do not let state attacks get through.
The state of siege is causing traffic jams in several points throughout the city. Drivers who can’t use the Koşuyolu Avenue route try Elazığ Avenue bypass where they can barely get through. There were long lines of vehicles due to the jammed traffic.
Meanwhile the police did not allow shops to be opened on Sunay Avenue.
Several cars were burned and one excavator was tipped over after clashes on Koşuyolu Park and Sunay Avenue last night. Special operations units and armored vehicles were stationed on many of the streets corners in Kaynartepe Neighborhood. Fire trucks and ambulances could also be seen on Sunay Avenue.
Occasional gunshots continue in Kaynartepe Neighborhood.
