PKK and PAJK prisoners end hunger strike

PKK (Kurdistan Worker's Party) and PAJK (Kurdistan Women's Liberation Party, Partiya Azadiya Jin a Kurdistan) prisoners have ended the indefinite-alternate hunger strike they had started on August 15.

PKK (Kurdistan Worker's Party) and PAJK (Kurdistan Women's Liberation Party, Partiya Azadiya Jin a Kurdistan) prisoners have ended the indefinite-alternate hunger strike they had started on August 15 in protest at the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, denial of delivery of YPG/YPJ fighters' bodies to their families and political genocide operations.

In a statement on behalf of the prisoners, Deniz Kaya said the strike they started as a warning has been ended, but they will continue raising their voice against the fascist policies of the AKP.

Kaya drew attention to the murder of dozens of civilians as part of the all-out war launched by AKP against the Kurdish people, recalling that the AKP policies against the resisting Kurdish people, the people of Cizre in the first place, have been broken by the resistance of the people, which also made a great contribution to the democracy and freedoms of the peoples of Turkey.

'PEOPLE'S WILL AND FREEDOM WILL PREVAIL'

Kaya said PKK and PAJK prisoners saluted the self-sacrifice and resistance of the Kurdish people and voiced an ever solidarity with them.

“As PKK and PAJK prisoners, we announce that we will not remain inactive on the growing uprisings of the Kurdish people, nor remain silent towards the fascist policies of the AKP. We believe the Kurdish people will institutionalize the self-governance they have declared, and once again salute the struggle of the people resisting in streets, districts and cities who sacrifice their lives for this cause. It will be the AKP fascism to lose and the people's will and freedom to prevail.”
