PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) Executive Committee issued a statement on the National Day and Week of Heroism.

The PKK statement said: “We are in a new National Day and Week of Heroism. On the 31st anniversary of his martyrdom, we salute our National Hero Commander Agit (Mahsum Korkmaz) with respect and gratitude, and repeat our promise to uphold his memory and achieve his goals. We celebrate the National Day and Week of Heroism for Leader Abdullah Öcalan and all our comrades and people.”

“LET’S BURY AKP-MHP FASCISM”

“It is very clear that in the 31 years that have passed, we have created a heroic party, a heroic guerilla, a heroic youth, heroic women and a heroic people,” said the PKK statement, and continued:

“In year 32, we declare that we will create even greater victories with the spirit of heroism, marching ever more organized and determined in the Leader’s and the Martyrs’ path.

We are also experiencing the 45th anniversary of the murder of Mahir Çayan, great leader of the peoples of Turkey, and his comrades on March 30, 1972 in Kızıldere. With this, we salute the Kızıldere martyrs with respect and gratitude as well, and say that we will take the march for a Democratic Turkey and a Free Kurdistan to victory on the 46th year of their martyrdom. In this basis, we are calling on the women, the youth, all the peoples of Turkey and all workers to fight against the AKP-MHP fascism together, and bury fascism in history!

“WE SALUTE THE HEROES OF BOTAN”

We are also experiencing the 9th anniversary of the martyrdom of PKK Reconstruction Committee Member Nuda Karker, HPG Command Council Member Ferhat Dersim and the greatest propagandist of our Party, Halil Dağ who fought heroically and were martyred in the clash with the fascist Turkish army in Botan on April 1, 2008. Comrade Nuda Karker, member of the Reconstruction and Central Committees of our Party, combined the socialization of the Botan woman and the heroism line of our party in her person and became one of the symbol militants of the third party period. Comrade Ferhat Dersim engaged in guerilla activity in many areas from Dersim to Botan and has proven that he was one of the strongest followers of the Agit command line. Comrade Halil Dağ worked day and night to let the world hear the guerilla’s cries for freedom and became one of the most effective propagandists of our party. We salute these Heroes of Botan with respect and gratitude and repeat our promise to achieve their goals.

“STRONGER EMBRACE OF THE REALITY OF THE MARTYRS”

It is clear that we have become a Movement and a people that has become defenders, in the Apoist line and following the path of our heroic martyrs. On this basis, in the 32nd year of National Heroism, it is certain that we will fight ISIS and AKP-MHP fascism in a stronger and more organized manner and achieve new and greater victories. In this framework, we salute one more time with respect all our heroic martyrs, our National Heroes, from Mazlum Doğan to Mahsum Korkmaz, from Zilan to Nuda and Sara. We call on all our party and guerrilla forces and our people to embrace the reality of the martyrs stronger on the National Heroism Day and to fight with the spirit of Newroz, unity, freedom, resistance and victory!”
