Police attack demonstration against occupation in Sulaymaniyah

Demonstrators against Turkish occupation and KDP betrayal were attacked by the police in Sulaymaniyah.

Masses gathered in the Sulaymaniyah city of southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) on Saturday to protest against the Turkish occupation attacks on the region in cooperation with the ruling party KDP.


Police staged a brutal crackdown on the crowd with tear gas and batons, injuring many and detaining more others.

Speaking in the name of the demonstrators, Tevgera Azadî co-chair Tara Hisên protested the police attack, emphasizing their determination to stand against occupation.
