Turkish police raided the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) headquarters building in Amed last night.
The raid is reported to be because of the declaration made yesterday by the constituents of the Kurdish political movement with the demand Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan be accessed.
The Democratic Society Congress (DTK) headquarters in Ofis district was raided by police forces last night. The joint declaration by organisations including DTK, DBP, KJA, HDK and HDP had stated that 50 people were to go on a indefinite-irreversible hunger strike on September 5 because there is no information on Öcalan. The Öcalan poster hanged on the building during the declaration was forcibly taken down by the police. There are reports that the excuse for the raid was the poster and the declaration. A large group of riot police conducted the raid and searched the building for hours.
