Police units surrounded the Mescit and Konak neighborhoods in Amed’s Silvan district yesterday evening. There has been occasional gunfire in the neighborhoods where sporadic clashes break out briefly. Reports say Special Operations Police fire random shots in both neighborhoods.

The random shots fired by Special Operations Police struck a house in the Mescit neighborhoods, and the residents had to hide in their bathroom. Clashes continue in the neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, the police have cut off exits and entrances to both neighborhoods and allow citizens and vehicles through after searches.
