Political genocide operations against Kurds and their allies

Political genocide operations continue in Amed, Muş, İzmir, and Denizli.

Failing to break the resistance, the state continues their political genocide operations on the Kurdish people and their allies. A minimum of 15 people have been detained in Amed, Muş and İzmir. One man in Denizli was arrested for helping the wounded in Nusaybin.

AMED

House raids were conducted in Amed’s Lice district in the early morning hours. Osman Ağın from HDP district administration and citizen named Hulki Akman were detained in the raids. Ağın and Akman were taken to the district police headquarters and will be transferred to the Provincial Police Headquarters.

Amed Metropolitan Municipality Vice Secretary General Hüseyin Bayrak was also detained in a house raid in Kayapınar district. Bayrak was taken to the Provincial Security Directorate. There are reports of possible future detentions as well.

Former Batman Mayor Hüseyin Kalkan was detained by the police in Farqîn (Silvan) after attending a hearing of a lawsuit in Amed.

Kalkan had been arrested in the 2009 KCK operations and had remained in prison for a long time.

MUŞ

DBP Muş Provincial General Assembly Member Alparslan Kardan and Halil Görcü were arrested yesterday evening in the Malazgirt district of Muş. Karan and Görcü were taken to the Malazgirt Police Headquarters.

DENİZLİ

Pamukkale University student Mervan Çaçan was detained and transferred to the court with a demand for his arrest in Denizli. The court arrested Çaçan for helping the wounded in Nusaybin.

İZMİR

Several homes were raided in the morning in İzmir’s Konak, Karşıyaka, Menemen and Bayraklı districts. United Revolutionary Party members Nurhak Sabur, Yakup İşkar, Mustafa Kanar, Sadık Güney Akbaş, Roni Gören, Alper Yanar, Hazal Dallar, Mert Peköz and İnan Sever were detained in the house raids.

The detainees were taken to the İzmir Provincial Police Headquarters.
