Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Politbureau announced the program for Mam Jalal’s funeral. The PUK’s statement on the program for the ceremony and the transport of the body is as follows:

“The President’s body will arrive in the Sulaymaniyah Airport before noon on Friday. The body will be received with a ceremony according to protocol. The official, civilian and political programs will start in the airport with this ceremony.

The body will later be taken to the Grand Mosque of Sulaymaniyah (Mizgefta Mezin a Silêmaniyê).

Mam Jalal’s friends and loved ones will see him for one last time in the Grand Mosque of Sulaymaniyah.

From October 7, 10.00 a.m. onwards, condolences will be accepted in the Sîrwanî Niwê Stadium in the Serchinar district of Sulaymaniyah, and in 11 other cities (Hewlêr, Kirkuk, Duhok, Halabja, Zakho, Ranya, Koyê, Kelar, Soran and Chamchamal).

For the area between the airport and the PUK Sulaymaniyah Headquarters, residents and institutions from Kirkuk, Chamchamal, Hewlêr, Koyê, Raperîn, Dihok, Mosul and Shengal, the public, trade unions, PUK members and friends and loved ones of Mam Jalal will be greeting Mam Jalal on the bypass (60th Avenue).”
