Tevgera Azadi (Freedom Movement) and Kurdistan Patriotic Youth Movement organised a demonstration in Kirkuk on occasion of 26 May Day of Action Against Turkish Invasion, protesting against the Turkish state’s invasion attacks against Rojava (western) and Bashure (southern) Kurdistan.
The press conference in Kirkuk was attended by Tevgera Azadi, representatives of political parties and civilians.
Reading the press statement, Kurdistan Patriotic Youth Movement member Rêbîn Ömer said the following; “Taking further fascist steps every day, Erdoğan (Turkish President) seeks to destroy the gains of the Kurdish people in Rojava and Bashure Kurdistan. The Turkish state bases its politics on animosity towards the Kurds under the leadership of Erdoğan. The ongoing invasion attacks in Bradost (northern Iraq) cause great damages to the local people.”
Pointing out the Turkish state’s repression of the Kurds everywhere, Ömer continued; “Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan is unjustly held in İmralı Island Prison for nearly 20 years. He is not denied meeting and visits and he is held in aggravated isolation. National and international circles must show their reactions against the Turkish state. Öcalan must be contacted and his freedom must be ensured in the soonest time.”
