Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Politbureau Member Ferid Eseserd and Kurdistan Islamic Group Politbureau Member Kamil Mahmut expressed support for KCK’s call for national unity and the organization of a national congress.

YNK Politbureau Member Ferid Eseserd answered KCK’s call for a National Congress and said they are ready for the National Congress. Eseserd expressed that a National Congress has never been needed more and said that a good preparation is necessary for a congress that produces results.

“A NATIONAL CONGRESS WILL CREATE GREAT GAINS”

“A possible National Congress should set forth a national strategy for Kurds,” said Eseserd and expressed that such a strategy will be a great gain for the future of the Kurdish people.

Eseserd pointed to the necessity of parties discussing issues among themselves first for such a congress and said: “A common ground should be found before the congress. If parties start preparing now by discussing fundamental issues among themselves, then a successful congress that produces results will emerge for sure. For the congress to not remain unresolved like the one before, this preparation should be made well.”

“YNK IS READY FOR THE NATIONAL CONGRESS”

YNK Politbureau Member Ferit Eseserd pointed out that a very delicate phase will start with the issues in Mosul and Syria entering the solution phase and said they were ready for such a congress as the YNK. Eseserd expressed that Kurds should come together in such a period, discuss their own issues and issues and actualize the national congress.

Eseserd said Kurds should come together and discuss for the solution of issues and continued: “There can also be dual meetings between parties, but in that case the outcomes will only be bounding for the parties in the meeting. But if the National Congress convenes, then all parties will come and cooperate. The aim of the congress is to bring forth the decision power to be bounding for all parties.”

“A NATIONAL CONGRESS WILL SOLVE SOUTHERN KURDISTAN’S INTERNAL ISSUES AS WELL”

Ferit Eseserd also mentioned the long-running political crisis in Southern Kurdistan and made the following analyses on the matter: “In the current situation, there are problems among all 5 parties in the government in Southern Kurdistan, and that is upsetting. Undoubtedly, if a national congress is held, then we will have the opportunity to solve our own issues as well. But I believe we should resolve these issues among ourselves before we go to such a congress, so they won’t cause tension during the congress. There are also some issues among parts of Kurdistan. There can also be meetings to search for solutions to these issues. If the issues among parties are solved, a very good congress will be held. In this sense, for a successful congress, a good foundation needs to be prepared. But, despite everything, the current situation seriously necessitates a national congress.”

MAHMUT: THOSE THAT DO NOT SUPPORT NATIONAL UNITY SHOULD BE DISBANDED

Kurdistan Islamic Movement Politbureau Member Kamil Mahmut expressed support to KCK’s call for national unity and recalled that the National Unity Conference in 2013 was wasted because of the parties’ concern for their own interests. Mahmut underlined the importance of KCK’s call and said that the national congress should be held after adequate preparation. Mahmut said that those parties that do not support national unity should be dispanded, and the efforts in 2013 should be finalized with success.

“NATIONAL UNITY SHOULD BE THE PROBLEM OF ALL OF US, NOT JUST KCK’S”

Lastly, Kamil Mahmut stated that national unity should be the problem of all political parties, not just KCK’s. Mahmut said "As the Kurdistan Islamic Movement, we will participate in a congress that is not dominated by a single party. Our only condition is that the congress is a national one. There are problems among all political parties across Kurdistan. These problems prevent the solution of the national question. Our main issue is how to establish national unity. Kurds should unite."

Freedom Movement (Tevgera Azadi) Co-president Shilan Shakir and Kurdistan Socialist Democratic Party Politbureau Member Fatih Rauf Ahmed had expressed support for KCK's call for national unity and the organization of a national congress recently.
