PUK announces acceptance of the election results

During a press conference on Sunday, Saadi Ahmed Pira,spokesman for the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), said that the Patriotic Union, despite its many observations, and from the perspective of responsibility that falls on it and for the higher interests of the people of Kurdistan, accepts the results of the elections of the Kurdistan Parliament.
He added that the Patriotic Union will work with all political parties to overcome the crises in the Kurdistan Region and our doors are open to all other parties for dialogue on the formation of the new government in the Kurdistan Region.
He stressed that the Patriotic Union and the Democratic Party will work together to manage the Kurdistan Region, because the task of administering the Kurdistan Region rests primarily with the Patriotic Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, stressing that the two parties overcame many crises and bore great responsibilities together.
The spokesman for the Political Bureau continued: It is too early to talk about the share of political parties from government positions, the election is finished and the results are announced, after this we will enter the stage of dialogue between political parties to form a new government and we will see what will be agreed between the political parties.
On the province of Kirkuk, Saadi Ahmed Pira said: Kirkuk province is very important to the Kurds, and the Patriotic Union will not accept the bargaining on the issue of Kirkuk in any way, and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan praised Kirkuk’s victory in the elections of the Council of Representatives, stressing the need to elect a new governor of Kirkuk from the Kurds, stressing that the post of governor of Kirkuk will be the share of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
