Refugees from North Kurdistan in Sulaymaniyah demand arrest of Zeki Çelebi's killers

Refugees from North Kurdistan living in Sulaymaniyah demanded to expose the murderers of Zeki Çelebi, who was killed in an armed attack in the city five weeks ago.

Political refugees from North Kurdistan, Çelebi's family and friends gathered in front of Baxê Giştî Park in the city center of Sulaymaniyah, attending the protest organised by the Mesopotamia Workers’ Association.

Mesopotamia Workers' Association member Müslüm Kaplan called out to the Sulaymaniyah Public Security Forces and said: "Instead of questioning our members, expose the murderers of martyr Zeki Çelebi. We will continue our actions until the killers are arrested."

North Kurdistan politician Zeki Çelebi, was killed on 17 May, on the street. He had just left his restaurant on Bahtiari Street in Sulaymaniyah. It is believed that the attack was planned by the Turkish intelligence service, MIT. The killers were caught on cameras and are believed to have fled to Hewler.
