As Turkish military and ISIS groups continue their attacks on Shehba region in Rojava's Efrîn Canton, Revolutionary Forces are fortifying their defense lines in the villages they have liberated.
Following the liberation of the Harbul village from ISIS gangs, Turkish-backed 'Euphrates Shield' gangs have attacked the region.
Mahmud Omer, a fighter from the Revolutionary Forces, spoke to ANF and stated that they have broken all the attacks and are protecting their areas.
Omer remarked that the attack on Herbel came after their liberation of the village which is located 3 km to the town of Marea and thus has a strategic position.
Omer said they came under attack with tank, rocket and artillery fire, to which they resisted and broke the wave of attacks. Omer remarked that they were targeted by simultaneous attacks from Tel Mald and Marea, in response to which they protected their positions with light arms against advanced attacks.
Omer continued: "Turkish army and affiliated gangs have targeted civilians, which resulted in several casualties and injuries. The attack launched against us from Marea side was a surprise. It is 'Euphrates Shield' gangs that attacked us. We defend that Syria belong to us, Syrians, and it is our right to make decisions on our land. We will stand against the gangs and their plans that are organised by Turkey or foreign forces."
Mahmud Omer reacted to the Turkish state, saying that Turkey should first deal with its own democracy problem before engaging in the affairs of others.
