Relatives of 34 Kurdish civilians who lost their lives when Turkish warplanes bombed the village of Roboski on 28 December 2011, gathered at the graves of their relatives on Thursday.

The families gathered at the graves of their beloved ones for the 339th week to demand justice.

Veli Encu spoke on behalf of the families, surrounded by relatives carrying photos of the people killed by Turkish army, among whom were many minors.

Encu begun his speech by thanking the Human Rights Association (IHD) for their monthly press release to remind of the massacre. Encu pointed out that for 339 weeks they have been demanding justice but they only met with silence. The pain and the loss of the families, he said, were ignored by the authorities.

Reminding the AKP government of the words it gave and didn't keep, Encu said: "The AKP government, which has condemned us to injustice, has never given the Roboski families any reason to be hopeful."

After the 24 June elections, Encu added, oppressed people and people who had no justice, will continue to have neither hope nor confidence in this government.
