Internal and external migration continues across Syria due to the clashes between the Turkish state forces, Turkish-backed gangs, regime forces and ISIS groups. 6 thousand people, majority of whom are women and children, have fled their homes and took refuge in Rojava'a Efrîn Canton over the past three days.
Some of these refugees were settled in camps and others in regions surrounding Efrîn.
Refugee E.E. from Dayr Hafir town of Aleppo stated that they abandoned their houses because of ISIS savagery, and said “Our lives became hell. We woke up to the screams of people being tortured and massacred every day.”
E.E. stated that they had been planning how to escape from ISIS gangs for the last one week and finally decided to come to Efrîn Canton.
Refugee Fatma Ali from Bab's Meran village said they came to Efrîn because it is a secure area.
Necwa Ibrahîm, another refugee from Dayr Hafir, said “ISIS gangs pillaged and destroyed our houses. We had to migrate because of their savagery.”
