Second phase in Manbij operation begins

Manbij Military Council announced that its fighters have started the second phase of the operation, which is entering the city of Manbij, by paying utmost attention to all international laws, principles and rules.

The statement recalled that fighters of the Manbij Military Council have liberated a number of villages around Manbij and cut off all the supply routes leading to the city.

Remarking that ISIS gangs used the civilians in Manbij as captives and wanted to use them as human shields, the Council called upon the civilians in the city center to stay away from the areas of clashes.

According to the Council's statement, the operation continues now with the second phase, which is entering the city center after the encirclement of the city from four sides, and this phase also serves the security of civilians that remain in the city.

The Council underlined that; "We promise the people of Manbij that we will continue the Operation Marty Commander Faysal Abu Layla until the entire city is liberated.”
