Sêmalka border crossing has been closed due to flooding. Sêmalka is located on the Tigris, which forms the border between South Kurdistan (Bashur) and West Kurdistan (Rojava). Due to heavy rainfall, the water level of the Tigris is unusually high. Today, the border crossing has been closed again.
According to Baz Ahmed, one of the border authorities on the West Kurdistan side, border crossings are not possible due to security reasons until the flood ends.
