Several HDP and DBP members detained in Amed and Hakkari

Police forces carried out raids in Amed (Diyarbakır) province Wednesday morning. The operation targeted executives of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions’ Party (DBP).
The politicians who have been detained in the operation are: HDP Bağlar district co-chair Necmettin Burakmak, Yenişehir district co-chair Vahap Günay, HDP Kayapınar district co-chair Haluk Eyüpoğlu, DBP Bağlar district co-chair Ali Alkan, DBP administrator Ramazan Üngür and HDP administrators Osman Dön and Sait Demir.
The detained politicians have been taken to the provincial police directorate and the number of detainees is expected to increase.
On the other hand, 8 people were taken into custody in Hakkari province this morning for having participated in the hunger strike the week before in solidarity with DTK Co-chair and Hakkari MP Leyla Güven.
Those detained in the operation are: HDP provincial branch co-chair Zeynep Kaya, DBP provincial branch co-chair Nuriye Aktaş, DBP Yüksekova district co-chair Nevzat Kaya and party members Şehriban Acar, Keskin Erol, Necip Coşkun and Nurettin Atsız.
The detainees have been taken to Hakkari provincial police directorate.
