Shengal’s PADÊ remembers victims of August 3 genocide

PADÊ held a memorial for the martyrs of Shengal and stressed that they will take Öcalan’s philosophy as a base and they will liberate their society with this philosophy.

The Êzidî (Yazidi) Democracy and Freedom Party (PADÊ) issued a written statement for the 4th anniversary of the Shengal genocide.

The PADÊ held a memorial for the martyrs of the massacre and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the struggle for the freedom of Yazidi land Êzidxan.

The statement pointed out that thousands of Yazidi children, women and young girls are still captive at the hands of ISIS gangs and said: “Everybody knows that the August 3 Firman (decree of genocide) happened when Southern Kurdistan forces withdrew from the area. These forces claim to have been the defense forces for the Yazidi society since 1970’s. Our people had believed in the. These forces had also prevented the HPG from entering when they came to our aid. As it is known, 12 HPG guerillas had seen to the plight of Shengal from the Kurdistan freedom mountains and protected our people from a great massacre.”

“WE WILL TAKE ÖCALAN’S PHILOSOPHY AS A BASE”

The statement continued to state that the fight will continue until the children are free and avenged, and added that the philosophy of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan which protected the Yazidi people from the Firman will be taken as a base and society will be freed in accordance with this philosophy.

The PADÊ called on Yazidis who have been living in tents in refugee camps for the last 4 years and reminded them to never forget August 3 and fight for their rights in the streets on the anniversary.

PADÊ said, “We remember our martyrs of the massacre and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the struggle to liberate Ezidxan with respect and gratitude.”
