The YBŞ Command issued a written statement on the anniversary of the July 19 revolution and said, “With years of efforts and all the prices paid, on the 5th anniversary of the Rojava revolution, won with an epic resistance, where peoples found a new chance on life, we salute the struggle for freedom by all oppressed peoples and remember our heroic martyrs who gave up their life for the freedom of the Kurdish people with gratitude and respect. We bow down in respect for the legacy they left us. We also remember with respect and gratitude the internationalist revolutionaries who came from different lands throughout the world, with internationalist ideas assuming the Rojava revolution as their own, fought and fell martyr for this cause.

The July 19 Revolution has come to life with the democratic, ecological and women’s emancipatory social paradigm with Leader Apo as its architect. Women and the youth who are the true force behind society have been leading the Rojava revolution.

Despite all the attacks and threats by hegemonic powers, at any price, the revolution was protected and brought it to this day expanding. The Rojava revolution expanded from just being the struggle for freedom for the Kurdish people and has become the struggle for freedom for all oppressed peoples, and as evidenced by the revolutionaries from around the world who came and protected the revolution, this revolution has become the revolution of the oppressed peoples of the world.

Of course the Rojava revolution has had an indisputable grand effect and contribution to the struggle in Shengal. Since 2014, like the historic struggle against ISIS to protect human dignity in Rojava Kurdistan, there has been a great resistance in Shengal as a reflection of that and the liberated lands of Shengal have been gifted to the Êzidî people.

With that, the declaration of democratic autonomy after the Rojava revolution and the systemization step by step like it has been in our struggle in Shengal, has been a great inspiration to the ongoing efforts to declare democratic autonomy now. For this we remember our heroic martyrs with respect and gratitude for offering us all kinds of support and lighting the path of our struggle. We promise to continue on the path of Gelhat’s, Arin’s and countless other heroic martyrs to bring to reality the dreams of the peoples for a free life. We also salute the Rojava revolution and the fighters who fight in every front against ISIS right now with our most sincere emotion.”
