Shengal vigil enters 24th day

The vigil promoted by the Shengal people and the Yazidi community to support and claim the Êzidxan public security forces has reached day 24.

The people of Shengal continue their protest against the Shengal agreement signed the governments of Iraq and South Kurdistan. A vigil and a tent action are being carried out for 24 days in front of the Shengal Public Security Center.

The tent protest, which continues with the sologan "We are all asayish" (the asayish are the public security forces), is joibed every day by new groups of citizens.

The people said that they would continue the action until their demands are accepted.

Heci Kulî, who joined the action from Xenesor, said: "WIthout our public security forces, we cannot sit in peace in our homes. For us, Asayish is the presence of Êzidxan. The fact that the Baghdad government has not responded to us so far shows that this government has dirty plans in mind for Êzidxan."
