Soldier said to have fallen down cliff killed in guerrilla action

It came out that Turkish soldier by the name of Yusuf Demiryürek, who the Turkish state claimed “fell down a cliff” was killed in an action of guerrillas.

On November 28, guerrillas carried out an action against the Turkish soldiers deployed in Martyr Bager area near Koordine hill in the countryside of Hakkari’s Çukurca district.

HPG Press Office had announced that two soldiers were killed in this action, and that dead and wounded soldiers were retrieved from the scene with Sikorsky helicopters afterwards.

In the wake of the action, Turkish officials announced that a soldier by the name of Yusuf Demiryürek had fallen off cliff. Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu himself claimed that the soldier had died as result of an accident.

AKP Leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also sent condolences to Demiryürek family and repeated the claim that he had died in an accident.

It came out that the soldier in question died not in an accident but an action by guerrillas, the footage of which was obtained by ANF.
