Solidarity hunger strike in Sulaymaniyah on day 12

Solidarity action in Sulaymaniyah to demand an end to the isolation regime imposed on Abdullah Öcalan reached day 12.

Activists from the Mesopotamian Workers Association in Sulaymaniyah are on hunger strike for 12 days to demand an end to the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Today, the 7th group of activists took over the hunger strike.

Tesin Yildiz made a statement saying: “We salute the hunger strike action launched in Elazığ Prison. As long as isolation continues, our action will continue."

Yildiz condemned the detention of Mesopotamian Workers Association members carried out by the Kurdistan Region domestic forces. “Instead of standing against each other, Kurds must realise unity and the national congress.”
