Patriotic Youth’s Movement made a press statement in Sulaymaniyah regarding the Turkish state’s occupation attempts against Southern Kurdistan, saying; “It is time for a serhildan (uprising in Kurdish) against occupation.”

The statement was read out by Tewar Adil who called attention to Turkey’s ongoing policies of invasion, saying; “Turkish troops are both attacking southern Kurdistan and entering villages with their weapons. In this phase, we call out to the Kurdish people and people of southern Kurdistan in the face of this worrying situation that seeks to occupy our lands and destroy our gains; remaining silent on occupation forces is treason, it is even a historic treason.”

The statement continued; “For this very reason, it is time to take to the streets. We mustn’t allow the presence of invaders on Kurdistan land. We, young men and women, must protect our honor. If nobody protects us, we will protect our land and our people with our own will.”

The statement underlined; “We will not remain silent on occupation. We have a historic responsibility on our shoulders and we as youth are ready to do what it requires. We, young women, have mounted resistance against the Turkish state’s savage attacks against Rojava Kurdistan and we will also resist against the Turkish troops that have entered southern Kurdistan soil.”
