State forces bombing 2 neighborhoods in Şırnak

State forces that can’t advance in the face of the popular resistance for self-rule continue their bombing of the neighborhoods protected by Civil Defense Units in Şırnak.

On the 36th day of the state’s genocidal attacks in Şırnak, state forces have once again started bombing the neighborhoods of resistance with the break of dawn. The bombing started again in the morning hours in İsmetpaşa and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods, which were bombed last night and from where occasional clashes could be heard. Both neighborhoods are also being raked through by heavy weapons situationed on hills and around the Kendalîş Cemetery, Serê Sirkê, Mişûlê and houses of Tatars serving as village guards, located between Çakırsöğüt Gendarmerie Brigade and the 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command. The state forces failing to enter the neighborhoods continue their bombing and raking non-stop.

MOSQUE MINARET DEMOLISHED

Meanwhile, the minaret of one of the oldest mosques in Şırnak, Büyük Cami mosque in İsmetpaşa neighborhood, was demolished due to artillery fire.

Gazipaşa and Yenimahalle neighborhoods have seen occasional violent clashes since last night. Armored vehicles stationed around the neighborhood and special operations police stationed in higher buildings continue to fire on the neighborhoods. Occasional violent gunfire is heard from Tekser, Vakıfkent and Gündoğdu neighborhoods.

RECONNAISANCE FLIGHTS

Tanks, artillery weapons and howitzers stationed in Sîn û Ber region on Siirt road have been seen targeting determined spots in Bahçelievler neighborhood. Reconnaissance flights by UAVs and drones over the city continued through the night.

The city also witnesses intense ambulance and helicopter activity.
