State forces tore down three houses in Karşıyaka neighborhood of Van's central İpekyolu district in the wake of a clash during which three people died.
Special operations police forces raided the Karşıyaka neighborhood at around 01:30 the night before. Resident Sıddık Mana stated that; “They (police teams) forced us out of our houses and razed them to the ground with diggers. They didn't allow us to take our belongings even. Our children are badly depressed.”
Rıfat Araman, whose house was also demolished, told that state forces raked their houses, as a result of which all their animals perished. Araman said; "This is an attack targeting our neighborhood. They demolished our houses without any reason. They raked our houses, animals and living areas."
Araman's wife Neslihan Araman said they could hardly survive the aggression which was conducted while the whole household was inside and didn't have the chance to go out. Arman said; "The state forces have been granted with an authority to do everything they want. They raked our houses without a reason and went on to demolish them with diggers."
